Cava Spanish Sparkling White Wine

This sparkling wine is made from Macabeu / Parellada variety of grapes that are local to the renowned Catalonian wine region and grown on calcareous clay soil at an altitude of above 500m. It’s a great alternative to prosecco or champagne.

The wine has a yellow colour with green highlights and fine bubbles. The varietals’ hints are complemented by milky notes and a delicate, white fruit finish (apple, pear). It’s pleasant in the mouth, with perfectly-balanced acidity and well-integrated carbonic, leaving a full and lingering aftertaste.

The Premium Brut is produced in the traditional method and aged in the bottle between 15 & 18 months with an alcohol by volume of 11.5%. The wine comes from a vineyard with heritage using traditional methods. For 300 years, CLOS MONTBLANC, around 40kms due north of Tarragona, has been producing wines in the (now classified) D.O. Conca de Barberà using the same original family tradition and sustainable farming practices. If there’s one thing that sets these Cavas apart from most sparkling wines, it’s the production method, the ‘traditional’ method where the second fermentation from a still to a sparkling wine occurs 100% inside the bottle.
